Hi, I'm Viktor - from Munich, Germany. My experience is in Cloud Architecture, Network Engineering, IT Security, and Entrepreneurship, with a history of working in research and the industry. My passion for computer networks developed when I was 13, when I began working at Siemens after school hours. Through the following years, I worked as a research assistant and network engineer. By the time I was 23, I became Director of Corporate IT at one of the biggest entrepreneurship centers in Europe. Last year I joined AWS Professional Services as a consultant, with the prime focus of bringing my lean and agile startup know-how into large enterprises and thereby helping them achieve there goals in a faster and more efficient way. With deep tech knowledge I help my customers tackle their most difficult challenges on their journey into the cloud - be it a hybrid lift and shift or fully re- architected serverless deployment. I can work in English, German, and Russian, equally. With over 10+ years of working in this field, I have developed strong interpersonal skills and creativity along the way. Most of all, I love to motivate, mentor, and lead the people around me to provide the best possible experience for everyone.

Datacenter Network Virtualization in Multi-Tenant Environments May 10, 2015 | GI-Edition-Lecture Notes in Informatics (LNI), 8. DFN Konferenz

Outsourcing of computation and storage infrastructure into the cloud entails new challenges for the architecture and design of multi-tenant datacenters. With the evolution of virtualization techniques, tenant applications do not need to be operated on dedicated servers. Software switches hereby play an important role by mediating between physical infrastructure and virtualized applications. In this paper, we discuss the application of Open vSwitch, a software implementation of a network switch that is particularly designed for use in cloud environments. We analyze its features and performance in comparison to traditional concepts.

Network Virtualization Frameworks: VXLAN vs. NVGRE May 2016 | Chair for Business Information Systems, Technical University Munich

The trend of outsourcing compute and storage infrastructure into cloud datacenters like Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure carries new challenges for the architectural design of multi-tenant datacenters. With the evolution of virtualization techniques, tenant applications are abstracted from physical hosts by a virtualization layer and therefore do not have to be operated on dedicated bare-metal devices. The role of network virtualization hereby plays an important role. Multiple distinct tenants have to be isolated on one underlying physical core infrastructure. In this paper, we present the concept of network virtualization which is used in such hybrid cloud environments. We discuss and compare the protocols VXLAN and NVGRE and provide a particular use case.
